Thanks to a dumb typo I accidentally deleted my entire etc directory ](*,)
I tried doing a reinstall but that forces me to format the partition and that's not an option.
Obviously my system is dead, so I can only work from bootable cd's.
What I want to do is rebuild my system without losing any other data (recovering the deleted dir would be even better of course).
Please advise me on how I can best go about this.
