A few years ago I used 8.04. It almost outrivals XP.
Today I gave Ubuntu 9.10 another try. The first try was unsuccessful because Firefox lags, internet lags, youtube lags, almost everything lags. I thought the updates would fix those **** but I was naive.
This is what I see Ubuntu is doing. ******* the old hardware so only rich people can use the newest Ubuntu.
But that is not the case with Windows XP. I can run all my old hardware with proper drivers and no lag.
Ubuntu doesn't make things easier. Not in 9.10 at least. I give you a good example. To watch all movie formats in XP, I just need to install klitecodec mega. It's only 23MB. But in Ubuntu, I have to download 300MB of **** from medibuntu. Why can't Ubuntu learn? And not to mention the security updates that come up every second.
Now I only see one use for Ubuntu, the livecd feature. I can't use 8.04 cause the software is outdated. Like who wants to use openoffice 2.0???
